Ethos

What is Ethos, and who are these guitars built for?

Ethos is built for modern heavy players, low tunings, tight rhythm work, and fast lead playing. The focus is precision, stability, and feel.

Does the BFG line come with a case?

Yes. Both the BFG 7 and BFG 8 include a high-quality Ethos-branded padded gig bag.

Where are your guitars made?

Our import models are developed in collaboration with our manufacturing partner in Indonesia. We then have these guitars shipped and brought into our Montreal location, where we perform a secondary phase of quality control.

What models do you make right now?

The core lineup is the BFG series in 7- and 8-string.

How do I choose between the BFG-7 and BFG-8?

Choose based on the music you play and what you’re comfortable on:

  • Need the full 8-string range? Go BFG-8.
  • Want extended range without the extra string? Go BFG-7.
What’s the deal with that asymmetrical neck? What makes it unique?

While most 7 and 8 string neck profiles are derivatives of their 6 string predecessors, we designed our necks with 7-8 string playing styles from day one. We added a bit more bulk near the high strings to add a bit more comfort when you extend your reach for the lowest strings, and we also added in a progressively flatter profile as you get to the higher frets, to give you more of a neutral playing field as you jump or sweep from string to string

Are Ethos guitars designed for modern low tunings?

Yes, they’re built around modern heavy playing where clarity and intonation matter under aggressive picking.

Where can I find the exact specs for each model?

Each product page includes the full spec sheet (scale length, pickups, bridge, neck profile, etc.).

Are these guitars built for real-world reliability (rehearsals, travel, touring)?

Yes, the goal is consistent performance and stability for players who put serious hours on their gear. For example, we use Richlite fretboard material to ensure your frets stay stable in different environments. We also use carbon fibre rods within the neck to significantly reduce any neck movement due to environmental changes. For longevity, we use stainless steel frets instead of nickel-silver, to keep wear to an absolute minimum.
